A lot of people out there don't believe you can learn how to lose 20 pounds in a month. This is just silly! Why do they think you can't lose 2 pounds every 3 days? It is definitely possible, as long as you know what you're doing!

It really only takes a few lifestyle changes to see a major difference in your health and weight. Although a lot of people might argue that you need to do other things, the main things you really need are

  • Exercise

How to Lose 20 Pounds in a Month By Changing Your Diet

As I mentioned earlier, you can actually lose a TON of weight just by changing your diet. In fact, your diet makes up about 85% of how healthy your body is! Don't you think that makes an impact on your weight?

The fact of the matter is that it's MUCH easier to eat less calories than to simply burn more. Think about how long it takes you to burn 500 calories. You're talking at least 30 minutes in the gym, right?

But now think about how long it takes to eat 500 calories. A few cookies or brownies, a large fry at McDonalds, or a large soda will give you that in no time! That's why your diet is so important, and is the first thing we'll look at for people trying to lose weight and keep it off.

To lose 20 pounds in a month with your diet, you have to focus on eating just vegetables and high-protein foods like meats and fish. Veggies basically will give you all of the vitamins, minerals and fiber that you need without a ton of calories thrown in. The protein foods are used to give you muscle-building protein and also a source of fat. You can't burn fat unless you eat fat!

I highly recommend to stay away from junk foods, starchy foods, fruit, and dairy. Although these might be okay in moderation, a lot of studies show that these foods are very bad for our health in the long run.

How to Lose 20 Pounds in a Month through Exercise

We all know that exercise is extremely powerful to help you lose weight and keep it off, right? But exactly why is that the case, and how should you do it to lose 20 pounds in a month?

Well there are a few reasons why it is so powerful. For one thing, it burns a LOT of calories while you are exercising. Cardio workouts such as running burn extremely high amounts of calories, whereas muscle building workouts build less but make your body stronger. 

That's why I always recommend to my clients to do both. By both building muscle and burning calories through cardio, you're really setting yourself up to lose weight fast and keep it off.

Besides running, some great cardio workouts are elliptical machines, swimming, and even walking. Basically anything that can get your heart rate up is great.

As far as the muscle building goes, definitely do workouts that use a lot of muscle groups. Squats, pullups, and rows are good examples. Be sure not to overwork one part of your body, as many people do with their chest (with the bench press).
